Grab your ticket here for this event, or if you already have an ACCESS ALL EVENTS ticket, add it to your SCHED!
____________________________

The Mask You Live In
follows boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity.

Pressured by the media, their peer group, and even the adults in their lives, our protagonists confront messages encouraging them to disconnect from their emotions, devalue authentic friendships, objectify and degrade women, and resolve conflicts through violence. These gender stereotypes interconnect with race, class, and circumstance, creating a maze of identity issues boys and young men must navigate to become “real” men.

Experts in neuroscience, psychology, sociology, sports, education, and media also weigh in, offering empirical evidence of the “boy crisis” and tactics to combat it.

The Mask You Live In ultimately illustrates how we, as a society, can raise a healthier generation of boys and young men.

Join the film's star, Ashanti Branch from the Ever Forward Club following the screening for a chat

The Mask You Live In is a community screening of Educhange Week.

Following a year in the lives of two inspirational teachers in the only primary-age boarding school in Ireland. Housed in an 18th Century estate, school life embraces tradition and modernity. For John, rock music is just another subject alongside Maths, Scripture and Latin, taught

in a collaborative and often hilarious fashion. For Amanda the key to connecting with children is ‘the book’ and she uses all means to snare the young minds. For nearly half a century these two have shaped thousands of minds but now the unthinkable looms: what would retirement mean? What will keep them young if they leave?

School Life is screened at Educhange Week with Antidote Films

Designed and powered by your friends at Education Changemakers, this is a gathering of leading teachers, maverick leaders, world class stories and incredible brands all working to support better learning in every school, everywhere. Thousands of awesome humans, just like you.

There are two stages showcasing the best stories in education. Between tales, immerse yourself in the Collective Genius, career advice, incredible new innovations, programs, products and ideas, plus the coolest food Melbourne has to offer.

You know what they say... 'aint no party like a wrap-up-of-an-education-event party!

Let's be honest, in true EC Style, it's probably going to be one of the best parties you've ever been to. We take the best of Melbourne Rooftop-ness (think craft beers, good views) and also what you love about your niece's 2nd birthday (cupcakes, inflatable unicrons) and bring you some WOW as we close off a wonderful week of game changing and history making.

We can't reveal too much (because we love a good surprise) but expect awesome, in food, fun and folks you'll be hanging out with.

Bring your buddies, it's going to be epic. You can grab them a ticket here.
